Lund University is in Lund, a city in the south of Sweden and about 15 kms from the sea. This part of Sweden is very close to Denmark and Germany.

The closest international airport is Copenhagen airport (Kastrup) in Denmark. It is a 45 minute train journey from Copenhagen airport to Lund, via Malmö.

The main campus buildings of Lund University are located in the centre of the city and are an approximate 5 minute walk from the railway station (called 'järnvägsstation').

Copenhagen Airport. CPH/Kastrup
The closest international airport to Lund is Copenhagen Airport, in Denmark. This airport is called Kastrup. The journey time, by train, from the airport to Lund is about 50 minutes.
The trip to Lund is via Malmö central station where you may need to change. You will travel over the Öresund Bridge. Tickets must be bought at the airport, before you get on the train. The ticket office is in the arrivals hall, just before the escalators down to the station.
You can buy a ticket all the way to Lund, which will work even if you change trains. You can pay in Euros, Swedish or Danish kronor for your ticket at Kastrup. You can also use a debit/credit card.

Malmö Airport. MMX/Sturup
The closest local airport is Malmö Sturup. It has some international flights from destinations within Europe. You get either get a taxi or bus ('flygbuss') from Sturup to Lund.

Stockholm Airport. ARN/Arlanda
Arlanda is Sweden's largest international airport and is just outside Stockholm. The journey time, by the slowest and cheapest train (intercity) is approximately 7 hours to Lund. The X2000 train is faster but costs more money. There is a direct train line and these trains stop at Lund. Please note, the airports Stockholm Vasteras and Stockholm Skavsta are almost 100 kms outside of Stockholm.

Gothenburg Airport. /Göteborg-Landvetter
Gothenburg (Göteborg, in Swedish) is approximately 250 kms north of Lund. There are regular trains between Gothenburg and Lund. The journey time is approximately 3-4 hours.
► By train
Malmö - Lund
It takes approximately 15 min by local commuter trains ('Pågatåg' or 'Öresundståg'). These depart approximately 4 times per hour during weekdays. They are not as frequent in the evenings and during weekends. Tickets cost SEK 42 and are available from the ticket machines on the platform for local train departures. This procedure requires local currency (no larger than a SEK 100 note). You can only buy single tickets from these machines.

Stockholm, Gothenburg (Göteborg) or Oslo - Lund
Lund is located on the main railway from Malmö to Stockholm and Oslo. Travel time from Stockholm is about 4 hours on the express train 'X2000' or 6-7 hours on 'Intercity' trains. Travel time from Gothenburg is about 3-4 hours.
► By car
There are car and passenger ferry connections to southern Sweden from Germany, with Scandlines and TT-Line, and from Poland with Polferries. There are also connections via Denmark from Germany and the UK. To travel by car over the Öresund Bridge from Denmark costs approximately DKK 250, SEK 300 or EURO 35 per car.
Lund is conveniently reached from the main roads E6 and E22.
Taxi
From Malmö to Lund by taxi is approximately 300 SEK and only small variations from this should be accepted. The trip takes approximately 20 minutes. Most companies have fixed prices for defined routes (such as Sturup-Lund). Taxis will not stop for passengers in the street and must instead be hired at official taxi stops or ordered in advance. Taxis normally accept all major credit cards.
