Presentation This is primarily a technical module that will introduce and explain the concepts and theories of federated identity management and the underlying technologies on which they are built. It will identify the strengths and weaknesses in current FIM systems and models and will look at the latest research that is attempting to address some of the deficiencies.
Pre-requisites
Attendees should be familiar with the Internet and its underlying protocols (connectionless and connection oriented, client server interactions etc.) and appreciate the security vulnerabilities and risks that businesses undertake when connecting to the Internet.
Training's objectives
Understanding the history and development of today's identity management systems, including the standards that underpin them. This will be complemented with an overview of some of the latest research in federated identity management systems and what you might expect to impact the market in the next 5 years.
